What You Can Expect:

The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Day Treatment Program is designed to bridge the gap between an inpatient program and an outpatient program.  The goal of the program is to reduce substance abuse and mental health symptoms to prevent the need for inpatient hospitalization.  Admission to this program allows the patient to live at home and continue with work or school.

Patients may either transfer or “step down” into a Day Treatment program from an inpatient residential program, or “step up” from a relatively less intensive, standard outpatient program. In other cases, people may enroll in Day Treatment as their initial entry into treatment. The SUD Day Treatment Program allows the participant the opportunity to continue with work or school, and family obligations while receiving the necessary help they need. Our SUD Day Treatment Program is a good fit for people who:

  • Have already completed a hospital or residential treatment program but feel at imminent risk of relapse.
  • Are not making optimal recovery progress in an IOP.
  • Have a co-occurring disorder (e.g., anxiety or depression in addition to a substance use disorder).
  • Have a hard time motivating themselves to continue treatment.
  • Live in environments where they are at high risk for using drugs and have little support.

Our Day Treatment program is intentionally designed for small group therapy.  This gives each person a great opportunity to listen, speak, and be heard on topics that are important to him or her.  Small group participants share their struggles and triumphs to get deep insights into what’s working for themselves and others who are walking a similar path.

The length of the program varies based on individual needs, but the typical amount of time for the full benefit of our program is 30 days.  Our SUD Day Treatment Program operates five days-a-week, Monday through Thursdays, from 10:00 am – 1:00pm, Saturday 10:00-12:00pm.  The program is designed to:

  • Provide up to 18 hours of intensive outpatient treatment for adults per week
  • Address moderately intense mental health and substance abuse problems
  • Help clients develop skills necessary to continue to progress in outpatient treatment setting
