Wellsprings Recovery Center welcomes Karen L. Graves, ABD, LPCC-S, LICDC, SAP, as our new Clinical Director. She is a doctoral candidate completing her dissertation at South University in Savannah Georgia. Karen received her master’s degree in Pastoral Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary and her bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from Andrews University.
As a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervisory endorsement, Karen is also a licensed independent chemical dependent counselor. Her modality of treatment is an eclectic version of Solution Focused Brief Therapy. She is the Founder and Executive Clinical Director of Exodus Clinical Counseling Services, a private practice located in Willoughby Ohio.
In her new role, Karen will oversee and expand Wellsprings Recovery Center’s mental health services, while ensuring the highest quality clinical care in our addiction treatment programs.
Ms. Lisa is dedicated to assisting those with Substance Use Disorder. With a Master of Psychology from the University of the Rockies in Colorado, she is an Independent Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Ms. Lisa helps her patients to change negative thinking patterns and reactions, while encouraging behavior changes that lead to healthy awareness and improved coping skills. She shares, “Helping people find their way out of the dark and into the light is my calling and passion. It is a privilege to be able to watch the journey and see the smiles of those when they embrace a life in recovery. This is not a job to me; this is a lifestyle.”
With a Master of Education in Community Counseling from Kent State University, Mr. Bill has over 24 years of professional and practical experience in substance abuse counseling. As a former Addiction college professor, Mr. Bill uses evidence-based therapies to treat substance use disorders, while incorporating current events and other social topics into the curriculum. Bill shares, “Over the years, I have met a lot of different individuals who presented a myriad of issues. I realized how lucky I was to be presented with the opportunity to help someone.”
Ms. Tara is a recent honors graduate from Stark State College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science,
majoring in Human and Social Services with a concentration in Chemical Dependency. As a professional paralegal, Ms. Tara has a heart for helping those who struggles with addiction. She shares, “Seeing people get a fresh start after the darkest times of their lives is why I love being a counselor. There is nothing more rewarding than watching the miracle of recovery happen
Nicole is a graduate of Kent State University with a B.A in educational studies, minor in sociology, and a certificate in the addictions counseling program. She is passionate about the study of addiction as well as mental health; she sees benefit in assessing each case from a holistic approach coincided in evidence based theory and practice. Nicole believes in the medical model of addiction and strives to meet her clients where they are best met. She enjoys exploring outside, playing guitar, and painting. Nicole plans to further her education within the clinical setting.
Ms. Tamara is the administrative strength of the agency, specializing in customer service, marketing, and media relations. She also ensures the all COVID-19 protocols are followed and safety is a top priority for both the clients and staff. Ms. Tamara shares, “I have had a passion to help those with a great need. Darkness can seem like a lonely, long journey until you bump into someone along the way who will help you reach the light. With my 10 years of background in ministry and event planning, I have been blessed with an opportunity to serve in so many different capacities to support the patients, staff, and overall vision of the organization.”
After 20 years as a Call Center Manager in Corporate America, Ms. Mason transitioned her business and interpersonal skills to behavioral health in 2012. Her roles included being the Executive Director for a private Addiction treatment program in Macedonia, Ohio and was the Clinic Director for an Opioid Treatment Program in Massillon, Ohio. With a Master of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, she shares, “I decided to build an organization that treated all patients with the utmost respect, regardless of income levels, while utilizing cutting-edge technology to increase access to those that are often excluded from receiving quality mental health and addiction treatment.”
